“It is not a big deal and I think I will be ready for tomorrow’s match against Dominican Republic,” said Cruz during the post game press conference.

“There are no medals involved but is going to be a tough match due to the sport rivalry between those two teams. They also play very aggressive against us,” said Juan Carlos Nunez, the Puerto Rican coach.

Karina Ocasio was the only Puerto Rican player in double figures with 16 points, Eva Cruz had 9 and Dariam Acevedo came from the bench to contribute 8 points. Migdalel Ruiz was the best Mexican with 15.
